WordCamps Galore! Tampa, Orlando then US in Philly!

As the year starts to count down, my WordCamp schedule is staying full. I recently attended and spoke at WordCamp Boston, but the fun has not stopped!

WordCamp Tampa 2015 – Sept 25-27

WordCamp Tampa

On September 26th, I will be speaking at WordCamp Tampa! My talk will be on day 1 at 9:50 pm, titled Conversion Rate Optimization 101: Make Your WordPress Site Convert. Tampa is only one and a half hours from my home, allowing me to take a short drive in my vehicle, skipping long airport lines, TSA and flight delays. My wife and I will be arriving Friday afternoon and staying at a local hotel for the entirety of WordCamp.

WordCamp Tampa has some great speakers already lined up. The camp kicks off early on Friday with WP BootCamp, teaching attendees the skills they need to succeed in the WordPress industry. Saturday rolls around with 3 tracks, Publishing, Design and Developer to suit all skill levels. Saturday will end with an After Party and then of course, the non-official After After Party! Sunday is set to start a little later, to allow those that had a little too much fun the night before to wake-up and roll into the networking breakfast. Around 10:30 am, Sunday kicks off with a much-needed Keynote on Theft, Tributes & Collaboration from Carl Smith. I am excited for this keynote as the description talks about putting away the concept of intellectual property and embracing ideas of our time. Sunday continues with two new tracks; Business and Freelance mixed with more tracks related to Design & Development.

WordCamp Orlando – Nov 13-15

WordCamp Orlando

My hometown WordCamp Orlando is back and with a new theme! WordCamp Orlando is embracing a new theme this year, “WordPress is Magic”. As a WordCamp Orlando Co-Organizer, I may be a little biased, but, Orlando is set to be one of the best-themed WordCamps you could attend. The theming is easy to see on the website, but here is a little secret, the website is only the beginning. The organizing team has been working hard to make sure our theme follows the event all the way through!

The theming is not the only thing making WordCamp Orlando amazing. This year, WordCamp Orlando will be held in Downtown Orlando, the City Beautiful. Canvs Co-Working and The Iron Yard graciously provided us an amazing venue, The Church Street Exchange Building!

We are expecting over 550 to be in attendance this year and will be having 3 days of Workshops, Sessions, and even a Kids WordCamp! The team is currently reviewing speaking applications from “professors” and working on making some decisions soon!

Tickets go on sale soon, do not miss out on this one!

1st Ever WordCamp US – Dec 4-6

WordCamp US

After several WordCamps this year, I was lucky to have enough in the budget to make WordCamp US work! In 2015, WordCamp US was announced. There were 5 cities in the running, including Orlando. While our team worked hard to bring WordCamp US to Orlando, it was decided it would be in Philadelphia. What an amazing place for the first ever WordCamp US to be held. This is where the Declaration of Independence was signed, the birthplace of the United States. Over 2,000 are expected to be in attendance with many more attending via the live stream.

While it will be cold for us Floridians, about 7-8 of us from Orlando will be making the trek up to be a part of this first. As history fanatics, my wife and I plan on heading up a few days early to tour the historical sites. Be prepared for many photos to be posted from this trip. We will make sure we do not forget the DSLR camera for this trip.

Speakers have not yet been announced, but I am looking forward to an all-star lineup.
